Vore håndværkere laver aldrig to ens bordplade-løsninger.

Flair for innovation

Each item of furniture a small masterpiece

"We`re aiming at being the preferred and most inspiring worktop partner, offering creative and tailor-made solutions."

Here at Mølballe in Fårup we`ve lofty ambitions. The craftsmen at our factory never make two worktops the same. Each one is a minor masterpiece with its own character. And each part is also cut, assembled, polished and generally refined so the worktop fits in perfectly with the customer`s vision of an exclusive bath or kitchen.

The devil`s in the detail, as they say, and here at Mølballe we`re experts in installing sinks with concealed outlets, joining the ends of tops in a stylish and unique way and combining exotic materials. For example - concrete, steel, lino, Corian®, and of course, 25 types of fine wood.

When the solid oak bars are aligned before being glued together, the colours are coordinated, meaning the finished worktop offers an alluring pattern in growth rings and an elegant balance between dark and light wood. Small knots may well feature ? these are known as "cat`s paws" in the jargon - and lend character to the surface. Besides, oak wood is a product of the whims of Mother Nature. Nature`s special stamp is respected by the skilled craftsman and helps in his creation of a unique piece of furniture.

Flair for innovation

When brothers Sven and Kalle Aaquist acquired Mølballe in `96, it was only a small joiner`s workshop in a barn employing three staff. Yet today, Mølballe is an ultra-modern business employing a number of profesional staff and boasting a large manufacturing facility of 5,600 m2 with special workshops for the various product lines - wood, steel, Corian®, granite and linoleum.

Both brothers are themselves trained as craftsmen - Sven is a mason and Kalle a carpenter. Both also later qualified as engineers. Their strength lies in their ability to perceive the latest trends in the kitchen and bathroom scene. The brothers often travel to the furniture trade fair in Milan to check out the latest thing. They`ve a good eye for what`s going on.

Sven and Kalle lead the introduction of Corian® into Danish kitchens and Mølballe is now the country`s number one producer of worktops in this composite, which can be shaped according to need. Kalle already foresaw some years ago that the solid flat steel used for stylish, thin worktops would become a hit. Big brother Sven wowed Copenhageners at an exhibition in the capital by showing that it`s possible to make a sexy sink in white fibre concrete shaped as a pure cylinder. That very sink is now displayed in Aros Århus Art Museum.

The Aaquist brothers are ahead of the field and have the knack of knowing what the public will want next.
